Anglesea is another beautiful seaside town along the scenic great ocean road and this is the town on where we booked our accomodation for the great ocean road family getaway.

First thing you will notice is the Anglesea River bank where you can stroll, have a picnic, watch the birds, play at the playground, or hire a canoe or boat to explore the river.

Anglesea and surrounds

Anglesea is also famous for its cliffs, and the beach is magnificent and it is a patrolled swimming beach. Love walking along the beach soaking all the natures goodness of vitamin sea, it is just so relaxing. It is also a destination of water adventures like surfing, paddling and more.

We hopped in a golf cart at Anglesea Golf Club to see the mobs Eastern Grey Kangaroo up close. The joeys are so cute and the male kangaroo is so big and mascular. It was great to see them up close and learned something new.

We stayed at Great Ocean Road Resort which is just across the Anglesea River and the entrance on the beach. Kids enjoyed the playground, the boat ride and the beach. On the resort they love the heated indoor pool, there are also other activities like Jumpz Trampoline, tennis.

Along the scenic road you will notice a lighthouse and this is the Split Point Lighthouse in Aireys Inlet. The lightlight is sitting beautifully at the cliff and view is breathtaking. You will also see the Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary, and it is a home of diverse marine life.

It is 100 years since the construction of the great oceania road. The Arch on the Great Ocean Road is a historical marker, a tribute for the WWI servicemen who built the great oceania road.

Bellbrae, 10 mins from Torquay and Anglesea is the home of Great Ocean Road Ice Creamery and chocolaterie, a great stopover for a free chocolate, delicious ice cream and food and for chocolate of course ! You can watch the chocolate making. The orchard, the beautiful garden the play area is huge plus they have balls for kids to play. We love Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery, here in great ocean road and in Yarra Valley. Our son did Junior Chocolatier experience in Yarra Valley when he was younger, love the place.
