Torquay is a town famous for its beach, surfing capital of Australia, home of the National Surfing Museum and it is the start of the historic, scenic and spectacular – The great Ocean Road.

Our first stop over is at Fisherman’s Beach and had breakfast at the Salty Dog Cafe, a dog friendly cafe and with a great view from from the beach.

It’s awesome to explore the surfing history of Australia at the Australian National Surfing Museum, the exhibits are really good. There is an experience where you can ride a surf board and pretend surfing the wave. The theater is surrounded by surf boards, cool !

We strolled along the beautiful esplanade, played at the beach and playground. It’s lovely to see people having fun, a very good vibe. It was a great day when we visited , the theraputic sea breeze, the green lawns, the beautiful scenery. It is a series of beach and very enjoyable walk . You can have picnics here or enjoy delicious food just across the road, there are plenty of restaurants.

It is also marks the centenary of construction of the great ocean road, wow 100 years! Along the beaches are pop-up free cinema, and arts and this will run up to 6th Oct 2019. As you walk along there are historical points, and at the top of Point Danger there is a war memorial .

Torquay is near to the world’s famous Bell’s beach, the home of surfing competition. The wave and views are spectacular.
